There is always an story behind every face and I also happen to have one. I was born and raised in an small country called Nepal till I was 9 years old. At the age of 9, I moved to United State, which is pretty far from Nepal, and I experienced an extreme culture shock. First of all, I was new to everything, like the people around me and the languages spoken around, which was difficult to understand and speak at first. Even at school, I had a very hard time making friends since I couldn't speak the language but back in my country, everyone spoke the same language so it was easier to communicate. One thing I realized is things that are done in the schools here are way different then back in Nepal such as getting punished, or classrooms. In here if we don’t do our homework or assignments, we can get extended time but back there, we used to get hit and automatic F in homework. Also like the holidays celebrated here was different from ours, which was little hard for me to adapt to at first. Then those holidays also became an habit. Even though Ohio was not the first place I came to, it’s still around the U.S which makes it easier to adapt anywhere near it since almost everything is same. For instance, the languages spoken or the holidays celebration. Learning new things and getting to know more people engaged me to travel and discover the world more.
