AMISH IN OHIO

The states that have more Amish are Ohio and Pennsylvannia. Most Amish live in rural areas and own farms, and most of them live in houses without electricity. Amish people have on average a lot of children (more  than 5 per family). When men get married they quit shaving their beards as a sign of humility. The first Amish came to America trying to escape religious persecution in Europe and looking for land to farm. They  believe that the community is at the heart of their life and faith, and that the way to salvation is to live  apart from the world
