                                                     How Thanksgiving Came To Be
There are many holidays that are celebrated in the United States. One of these holidays would be Thanksgiving. It is celebrated every 4th Thursday in November. Thanksgiving began as a feast in the early days. In September 6, 1620, a boat filled with 102 people sailed across pacific ocean from england on a mayflower. Those people had began to questions the belief of church of england and they did not want to be part of it. The pilgrims had landed in plymouth rock and their first winter was hard. They had arrived late to grow crops, and without any food, many people died from the sickness, starvation and freezing to death. When spring came, the pilgrims struggled to grow crops that when the native American the people that were already living there taught them how to grow corns and pumpkins. They taught them how to fish and hunt. The crops were harvested. The pilgrims were thankful to the Indians, so a feast was organized. The first thanksgiving was celebrated on November of 1621. In the U.S people invite family members and friends to celebrate what they are thankful for. Turkey and Ham and many other food is served at Thanksgiving dinner.
